Rehoboth and Bethany Beach Parking Meter Information

Since the meters are running again in our local beach towns, here's what you need to know before you go.  This information was taken directly from the town web site for each location (so I hope that it's up to date).  Happy Parking!!


REHOBOTH BEACH
Parking Meters: Meters are in effect from the Friday immediately preceding Memorial Day until and including the second Sunday following Labor Day, from 10AM until midnight.



Please remember that only "Head-In" parking is allowed at the meters.



Meter info:

  • All meters are $1.50 per hour

  • 30 minute meters are $1.00

  • New! Rehoboth Beach will be introducing Pay-by-Phone. To use new Parkmobile system, customers may pre-register or register on site for FREE at www.parkmobile.com. Once registered, customers can use a mobile app, the Internet, or call toll-free, 1-877-727-5758 to pay for parking. After setting up the account, customers can immediately start using system with their registered mobile phone. Customers can also select the option to receive text message alerts and reminders.



BETHANY BEACH

Pay to park effective every day May 15th through September 15th

  • Two time zones as postedRate: $1.50 per hour or 10 minutes per quarter

    • Commercial Area: 10AM – 11PM

    • All other pay to park: 10AM – 8PM

  • Pay Stations – Purchase time receipt, then display time receipt on dashboardTime limits: Garfield Parkway - 2 hour limit (may park more than two hours with new pay station time receipt); all other pay parking spaces unrestricted

    • Credit/Debit cards (Mastercard, VISA, Discover) or quarters accepted

    • Pay station time receipt may also be used at old style meters

  • Parking Permits for pay to park spaces (not valid on Garfield or in Resident Permit areas) East-west streets with “Residential Permits Required” signs restricted to vehicles displaying Resident Permits during hours as posted

    • Purchase at Town Hall or Police Department (214 Garfield)

    • 1 Day $20; 3 Days $59; 7 Days $137

  • Resident and Business permits are not valid in pay to park spaces

  • Handicap and Service vehicles must pay to park

  • Motor Cycles:  multiple cycles may park in a parking space with (1) pay receipt

  • Common mistakesParking regulations strictly enforced

    • Allow paid time to expire

    • Place pay station time receipt face down, unreadable

    • Park where signs or yellow lines prohibit, e.g. driveways, stop signs, fire hydrants, intersections, bike lanes

    • Park with vehicle protruding into traffic lane

    • Back into space designated as head in parking
